Local golf club drive fundraising success

A year of restrictions and empty golf courses couldn’t get in the way of members of Worldham Golf Club, as they went on to raise over £11,700 – the most they’ve ever raised for the Club Captain’s Charity in a single year.

Over £5,000 of the total came from a 10,000ft skydive by former Chairman Trevor Gill and club member Sue Andrews. Ladies’ Captain Barbara Hogg sat down and made almost 700 face coverings, raising a further £2,500. The rest of this amazing total came from other various club charity events.

The cheque for £11,753.87 was presented to our Community Fundraiser Evie Wragg by the 2020 Ladies’ Captain Barbara Hogg and Club Captain Nick Kellie.

Evie said, “It was wonderful to work with the fantastic captains and members of Worldham Golf Club and to support them in their fundraising. Not only did they deliver an amazing amount of money, but they managed to do so through a global pandemic. A huge thank you from myself and the whole Charity for helping to keep our life-saving service operational.”
