Hat’s a wrap!

Wednesday 7th August 2019

In 2014, we asked for your help to knit hats to keep our patients warm during flights to the hospital.

You responded in your thousands!

In the last five years, we estimate more than 3,000 hats have been knitted and donated and we are delighted to let you know that we now have enough hats to see us through for the next TEN YEARS!

“The response has been phenomenal” Airbase Support Officer, Chris Tate said. “We cannot thank the people of Hampshire and Isle of Wight enough for their support! We use the hats during the colder months to prevent patients from losing their body heat. Our cupboards are now bursting with woolly hats and we think we have enough to last us for the next ten years, which is incredible!”

We’re asking anyone still knitting to kindly donate them to other local charities in need, such as homeless shelters and hospitals.

From everyone at Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, THANK YOU, your support has made a big difference.
