On the 23rd October 2009, HIOWAA received a donation of £40 from ExxonMobil Fawley. Exactly 10 years to the day, that total now stands at an incredible £32,687.
The team at ExxonMobil Fawley have raised the money through various schemes, including the site’s employee safety recognition awards. These allow staff who have shown outstanding safety behaviours in the workplace to nominate a charity to receive a cash donation on their behalf.
As well as helping to keep the Air Ambulance flying and saving lives, the money raised has also helped to fund programmes such as LifeLines; the Charity’s popular education programme for 11-18-year-olds.
ExxonMobil Fawley Community Affairs Adviser, Angharad Vaughan, said:

The service provides a vital lifeline to the people of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, often in their time of greatest need. We would also like to pay tribute to the dedicated HIOWAA staff and volunteers who do so much. They truly are an inspiration.”
