Thursday 3rd October
On Thursday 3rd October, our CEO, Alex Lochrane, gathered the office to award a Certificate of Appreciation to one of our cherished volunteers, Mike Bainbridge.
Mike started volunteering with HIOWAA in April this year, and was nominated for the award by our Community Campaigns Fundraiser, Evie Wragg. Mike has been instrumental in developing and delivering our iRide campaign alongside Evie, including setting up and running our Biker Breakfasts, which you can join Mike at next Sunday in Alton.
After being presented with his award, Mike said:
“Well, that was completely out of the blue!”
He continued:
“I used to be a traffic police officer, so volunteering with HIOWAA felt like a natural progression. I knew all about the hard work Air Ambulance Charity’s do and, as a biker, I know of their vital importance. It felt like a home away from home joining a different sector of the emergency services, and being a part of such a fantastic team with so many happy smiley faces is great.”
Volunteering Team Leader, Kirsty Davies, said:
“Mike is truly amazing. His enthusiasm, passion and sense of humour are inspirational, and he is a joy to have on our team. He is everything we could ask for as a HIOWAA volunteer. Well done Mike and thank you.”
If you would like to become a part of our wonderful volunteering team, then please contact Kirsty on 02380 743 510.
The HIOWAA Certificate of Appreciation is awarded to anyone who has gone that extra mile and has acted in a way that exemplifies our charity values of Teamwork, Dedication, Openness and Professionalism.
