Thank you Thursday to Isle of Wight Randonnee

Thursday 18th July

On Friday 12th July, members from the Wayfarer Cycle Touring Club, presented a cheque worth £750 to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance (HIOWAA).

The money was raised through the annual Cycleisland Community Interest Company, Isle of Wight Randonnee on Sunday 5th May, which started in 1985.

3,500 cyclists took in the beautiful scenes around them, as they rode around the 100km route covering the whole of the Isle of Wight.

With various checkpoints set-up around the island, this gave riders a chance to take a breath, enjoy the views with refreshments and donate money to the cause.

Communities Fundraising Manager at HIOWAA, Ian Browning, said:

“The Isle of Wight Randonnee is such a fantastic, popular event, and once again they continue to raise vital funds for the Charity. We are extremely grateful to the organisers, and all the participants who donated money prior to, and on the day of the event. Without these donations, we would not be able to keep saving lives in our community.”

A huge thank you from everybody here at HIOWAA!
