The Southampton Airport Runway Run returns in support of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, and this year will be the biggest yet. 1,000 places are available for this popular 5k fun run. The event has sold out in the previous two years, so don’t delay and secure your place today for this unique event!
Runners will need to set their alarm super early, as the run begins at 5:30am to ensure there is enough time for participants to complete the fast and flat run and be off the runway in time for the first flights to take off and land.
Ray Southam, Partnerships Manager for HIOWAA, said:
“We’re always humbled by the amount of people who are prepared to give up their Sunday morning lie-in to support Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance. The Runway Run is an incredibly popular event and has sold out for the last two years, so we’re delighted that Southampton Airport have increased the participant numbers to accommodate 1,000 people. All the money raised from this unique event will help to ensure our Critical Care Teams are able to reach those who need us in their hour of need.”

Last year, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance responded to 1,429 emergencies across the south. It costs £15,000 a day to keep our life-saving service operational, so every penny counts! Please set up a sponsorship page on JustGiving to help us raise these vital funds.
